Meet John Beck, Founder and Author
John Beck is the founder of Virtual Bible Study and the author of 260 Bible lessons designed to help people understand Scripture and apply it to everyday life.
Since founding Virtual Bible Study in 2018, John has combined his experience in marketing and technology with his commitment to sharing God’s Word. His lessons encourage readers to examine biblical passages, reflect on their meaning, and consider how their faith can shape their daily choices.
Since 2018, Virtual Bible Study has reached more than 500,000 engaged users across over 180 countries.
How Virtual Bible Study Began
Virtual Bible Study began with a simple connection between John and his mother.
While studying the Book of Psalms together, they would read one chapter each night and text each other about what they had read. They asked questions, shared their thoughts, and discussed ways to apply the Scriptures to their lives.
That experience inspired John to create a place where others could study the Bible and share meaningful conversations about faith, wherever they lived.
The same invitation remains at the heart of Virtual Bible Study: read God’s Word, think about what it means, and put what you learn into practice.
What You Will Find in Our Lessons
Our lessons explore biblical passages and questions about faith, including salvation, forgiveness, prayer, suffering, and following Jesus.
Each lesson brings together Scripture references, explanations, and opportunities for reflection. We encourage you to read the referenced passages in context, consider the questions they raise, and examine the teaching for yourself.
You can study independently or use the lessons to start a conversation with a friend, family member, or Bible study group.
Our Approach to Bible Study
We want readers to engage thoughtfully with Scripture and consider its meaning for their own lives.
As you study with us, we invite you to ask:
-
What does this passage teach?
-
What questions do I have?
-
What does it make me think or feel?
-
How can I apply what I have learned to a specific situation in my life?
The lesson and the discussion are starting points for your own study. We encourage you to return to the biblical text, pray, and continue learning.
